Weekend Getaway: Rolling Huts Part One

April 24 , 2011 by: Hong Places

This past weekend, my boyfriend Dartanyon and I were able to spend a weekend together in the Methow Valley. Dartanyon loves weekend cabins and has read about the Rolling Huts in numerous architectural and design blogs. He was pretty excited when I booked our weekend getaway. What caught my attention was this article I read several months ago. We arrived late Friday afternoon after a five hour drive from Seattle. While Dartanyon started the fire and settled us in, I fixed a little snack.

We took a short walk to the river before having a light dinner and watched the sunset over the North Cascades.  We then settled in for the night with no television, electronics, a beautiful fire, and some great conversations.

Our plan for the next day: a hike on the Cedar Creek Trail. Stay tuned for part two of our Weekend Getaway!

  • I may be stealing this idea in the near future. The place looks amazing and I’m in need of a long weekend! Electronics free!
