We love our apples around here. Apples with Brie. Apples with Salumi. Apple Pies. And now we have just discovered Apple Cake. This simple recipe did not call for my KA. Boo. This was an good old fashioned cake recipe that called for some manual labor. So I put the boys to work and we were up for the challenge. In the process the boys and I discovered that we were an apple short and decided to sub for an Asian Pear. If you haven’t eaten one of these, they are to die for! Take my word for it. I don’t know if it was my ignorance but I thought the combination of Fuji and Asian Pear was a pretty nice blend. We served it up with some home made whipped cream with a little bit of cinnamon. Delicious! This would be a great Sunday Brunch menu addition.
